Hugh Owen

Hugh Owen was born on 1 February 1879 in Holyhead, Anglesey. He married Catherine Jane Edwards on 4/4/1902. He had six children with Catherine – Hugh in 1904, Robert in 1906, William in 1909, Lily in 1911, Mary Jane in 1915 and Catherine Jane in 1918. Just 11 months after giving birth to their sixth child, Catherine died of the Spanish flu pandemic aged just 35. Five years later Hugh married Elizabeth Jones. Elizabeth already had a young daughter Violet Nesta Jones. Hugh and and Elizabeth Jones had three children together – Leonard in 1924, Tegwyn in 1927 and David Cecil in 1927. Hugh died on 19 February 1945 in his hometown at the age of 66.
